Computer Science and Robotics
Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the career and technical education subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society and to develop in each student an understanding of the skills necessary for a specific occupation.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or high school diploma/GED and equivalent full-time wage-earning experience required for certification
Valid Texas Trade and Industrial Education teaching certificate with required license, endorsements, and training for subject and level assigned OR
Valid Texas Computer Science teaching certificate or eligible to obtain certification OR
Valid Texas Technology Applications teaching certificate
Valid Texas Technology Education teaching certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of career and technical education subject assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Proficient in the effective use of tools and technology used in the occupational field
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Technology skills as related to classroom presentation and record-keeping
Strong knowledge of Internet and web-related technology
Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms
Ability to support students with computer set-up, navigation, and technology issues
